How can something that starts off so savory end up sputtering to a flavor blackhole? I guess the answer to that is easy... I had a nice selection of condiments on my burger that just didn't mask the patties lack of taste through to the last bite. I love a good pickle slice, but it's no substitute for beef that can hold up on it's own.
I use to live down the street from this joint... by the way, can this place be categorized as a diner?... and Paul would be a good friend to me and those that partay-ed with me the next day... the shear half pound nature of the meat, I actualy use to get turkey from this place before I got kookoo for beef, and the thick cut fries along with the crisp lettuce, tomato, pickle and a heck of alot of ketchup and salt would transform our hangovers into satiated couch bums for the rest of the afternoon. Well, I'm not about rating a burger based on my hangover state anymore, and this burger hasn't made it to the next level either.
Maybe that's why you can get the kitchen sinck when it comes to burger toppings at Paul's... if I were to not care about the beef flavor alone, Paul's is a good priced place to get a burger and a beer while watching the Yankees blow another game.
thanks Karlo for showing your awesome views from your roof... good visual desert... I swear we were being attacked by the robot!
