Sad to see you go Roll-n-Roaster. I suppose cheap pitchers of beer and well priced burgers and roast beef is not enough to stay afloat in the city. Personally I didn't think the burgers were anything to go out of your way for. But the ability to hang with friends while listening to the Roaster's spiffy musak-esque tunes, drinking from the $5 pitchers and eating cheez covered food stuffs makes it a happy outing.
$5 pitchers are a great deal... but don't try to steal the napkins
I was able to order a roast beef sandwich, 2 cheezburgers, an order of onion rings, an order of cheez fries, a lemonade, and a pitcher of beer for the low price of $22... where else can you do such a thing in this city.
We made or visit on a Friday around 7:30 and the restaurant had a steady stream of patrons. But apparently it's not that way during the week. That makes sense I guess, the food is ok for fast food, but the real draw seems to be the cheap beer... and your normal patron doesn't get bombed on Tuesdays.
On Friday April 29th, the Roaster on 3rd ave, will bid adieu to the students and locals who had a home for their beef and cheez product fix.
Perhaps we'll see you in Sheepshead Bay... probably not. But the fans want to know... who will get to keep the 212-614-BEEF number?
